Join us to learn how to free motion quilt the background fillers which will make your quilting template designs pop.  We will start with warm up exercises to prepare you for stippling, then stipple.  Also covered will be several variations on stippling and straight line grids.  Come see our class sample and prepare to enter a new world of machine quilting.

Learn the basics of hand appliqué using the Heat Resistant Mylar method.  This method will open up a  whole new world of appliqué.  A perfect class for beginners, and even experienced Appliquérs  will discover new and exciting things too!  She will be teaching a great method for building your appliqué pieces that uses starch and Heat Resistant Mylar.  You will be working on shaping leaves, stems and different flower shapes.

Love the look of appliqué but don't have the time for hand sewing.  This is the class for you!  All the basics of machine appliqué will be covered including how to transfer patterns, the different types of fusible webs, fusing, satin stitch, blanket stitch/buttonhole stitch, decorative threads and more.  Reference notes given.

Who doesn't love the look of quilted feathers on their quilt?  This workshop will teach the anatomy of a feather as we explore traditional and free form feathers on a domestic machine.  Some of the feather styles covered are Open, Hook, Bump-back, and using a feather template.  Please see the store sample.  You are going to love feathers!

These quilts look incredibly difficult, but surprisingly, they are quite easy to make using the quick strip method.  The Bargello pattern is made from rectangles sewn into peaks and slopes of gradual colour changes.

The Dresden Plate quilt pattern was one of the most popular quilts made during the 1920's and 30s.  Simplified using the EZ International Quilting Ruler; you can make a beautiful Dresden quilt with this ruler.  Easy Dresden Quilt Acrylic Ruler includes a turner to make it easier.  The plates can then be machine or hand stitched onto the background.

SEW YOU KNOW - Most classes require that you bring your sewing machine (in good working order) and a basic sewing kit. Basic sewing kit consists of: needles, thread, seam ripper, scissors, straight pins, pencil and paper, quilting ruler, rotary cutter & mat.  ~ Can’t bring your sewing machine to class ~  We have sewing machines available for use in our classroom. You must reserve one ahead of time as a limited number are available.
 

 

 

 

   
 
 

 

REGISTRATION:  Register in person or by phone.  Payment must be made at this time. Visa or MasterCard are accepted for registration by phone. Classes are filled on a first-come basis. Classes require a minimum of 4 – 6 registrants to run and the maximum is 6 - 9. Register early as some classes fill quickly. When you register for a class, you will receive a requirement list outlining what you need to bring to class. Cancellation is allowed up to one week before class begins with full refund. If you and a group of friends would like to get together, we can arrange a private class for  4 or more. If there is enough interest in a class that is full ~ we will do what we can to
